Thames

Ham House is very near the Thames
river. The paddle-boat reminded
me of the Mississippi.

The tide was coming in, and
the current was very fast.

The bike and walking path was
busy on a sunny day.

We had supper that night
in a pub on the river.

Chartwell

In the afternoon, we visited Chartwell,
the home of Winston Churchill.
The house was full of history
and memorabilia from World War II.

And the gardens were beautifully landscaped.

London--Hever Castle

Mom and I recently spent a week in London.

The first place on our tour was Hever Castle.
The first time I've seen a real castle with a moat...
And also Anne Boleyn's family home.

My first impression of England is that
it is incredibly green.

Southern Cordon-bleu

One common birds in my yard
is the Southern Cordon-bleu or Blue Waxbill.

Today, they came to play in the puddle in front of my
house.  See the powder-blue breast and tail.

They come in pairs or small flocks.
